Beer

When I go out to a bar, I never know what size beer to order.

Do i get the 6oz samplers, or a 16oz tank, or maybe the 24oz growler?

There’s always the 32oz giant boggler…

I hate not ordering enough, but I hate it more if I can’t finish.

Its sac religious to leave alcohol behind…  So I’ve been told.

Next time I’ll just get a gin and tonic with a lime, and not have to make that choice.

Should I get a double?

That’s going to leave a mark

You walk into a door – BAM  “That’s gonna leave a mark.”

In a comedic movie moment, Chris Farley gets hit in the head with a plank.  BAM!… “That’s gonna leave a mark.”

This line has been used hundreds of times over and over again. And it’s still funny.

Here is a video with a few more examples.  Enjoy!

Being Psychic

Michael, my college roommate had a “gift”. He was psychic. Really!

I used to test his skills myself. I was not a believer in supernatural events or psychic abilities before this.

I would put him in a closet, while I memorized the license plate of a car stopped at the traffic light in front of our apartment. After the car drove away, Michael would come out of the closet (no pun intended) and could recite the plate number perfectly 9 out of 10 times. Truly amazing!

I’m not trying to convince you. I’m just saying that it opened up my mind to possibilities.

Did he use his “gift” to get rich? Or pick winning stocks? Or go to Vegas?

No, not even close…

HIs “gift” got him laid. He would go to a local bar, and hookup virtually every single night. What a “gift”.

He ultimately had a successful career in sales, and unfortunately passed away at a young age.

I think about him often, wondering whether there is a higher plane in life, or after-life.

I really hope so…

Express your gratitude

When I say “Thank You” or give a compliment, I always mean it.

Lately, I decided to express more gratitude and appreciation to the people I come in contact with.

  • I kid around with the Barista at Starbucks.
  • Compliment my staff at work for even the smallest thing.
  • Kiss my wife more than twice a day.
  • I even pet my cat more and talk “baby talk” to him. (He loves hearing my super-masculine deep voice change to a high-pitched, nonsensical speech patter.)  I wish my wife did too… )

The result?  FANTASTIC DIFFERENCE…

It’s made me smile more and feel better about the ups and downs of the day. But something unexpected also happened:

I’ve gotten much more work done lately, because I’m making less excuses.  I’m “finding the time” to do a bunch of stuff I’ve been procrastinating for a while.

Maybe I’m just in a better mood. Or maybe my focus is back…

Either way, expressing my gratitude to the people around me has given me a new mindset that feels pretty f**king  great.
